Resin Injection - Monica Will HouseCLIENT: Makers UK

The Problem:

A car fire in an underground car park resulted in the de-lamination of the permanent steel soffit formwork from the first floor concrete deck infill.

The Solution:

H2Ox were called in by specialist concrete repairers Makers UK Ltd to come up with a grouting solution to fill the voids.

The main client’s engineer advised a cementitious solution but the H2Ox Engineers advised against this to ensure complete void filling. The Engineers recommended a resin injection as this involved voids of 10mm tapering down to 0mm.

Using a multi-port two component epoxy injection pump almost 800kg of low viscosity, 2:1 ratio, epoxy resin was injected into approximately 400m2 of soffit.

Subsequent hammer testing by the client proved that the void filling had been successful.
