Engineer

Up to £30000 per annum

We are going through a period of growth and require a new engineer to meet our current sales demands.

 

The Role

 

As an Engineer you will be responsible for all aspects of project engineering activities associated with enquiries, site assessment and successful contracts. You will produce solutions and identify remedial actions in relation to ground stabilisation and leak repair using specialist products and techniques and engineering knowledge. Specific tasks will include carrying out site inspections, producing detailed product specifications, preparing budgetary estimates and producing client proposals. You will be responsible for managing projects from conception to completion whilst ensuring accurate project documentation including drawings, equipment requirements, method statements and risk assessments.

Repair Operative

£23000 – £26000 per annum

 


 

Overview

 

Based in Oxfordshire, Oxford Hydrotechnics is a market leading resin injection and concrete grouting specialist firm working on prestigious projects across the UK and Europe.  We often attend site visits at short notice and use cutting edge techniques to meet our client’s needs.

The work is  based in London and South of England with some travel required, including overnight stays for 4 nights per week.

 

 

Role Purpose

 

To make repairs to concrete, soil and various structures, using specialist resin injection and concrete grouting techniques.

 

Core Hours

 

45 hours per week, normally between 7am and 5pm Monday to Friday. Occasional weekend/overtime working.

 

Reporting Lines

 

Reports to:              Team Leader and Contracts/Site Manager

Direct reports:         None

 

Main Duties

 

  1. Drilling into concrete, ground and solid structures in preparation for repairs
  2. Using water and resin pumps to inject resin, cementitious grout and waterproof materials into various structures including ground, walls and basements
  3. Working to drawings, plans, methods statements and instruction from Team Leaders to ensure accurate drilling and placement of products
  4. Maintenance and cleaning of water and resin pumps
  5. Working with hazardous products isocyanate and epoxy based products
  6. Using various hand tools including spanners for repairs and maintenance
  7. Manual handling including lifting and moving heavy drills and equipment
  8. General site labouring
  9. Carrying out weekly van cleaning and tidying
  10. Completing weekly van check paperwork
  11. Participate in stock taking and checking activities
  12. Completing weekly timesheets and expenses forms and submitting to Head Office for payment
  13. Taking reasonable care for Health and Safety of him/herself and of other persons who may be affected by his/her acts or omissions.
  14. Being familiar with Health and Safety Procedures and rules and observing them at all times.
  15. Reporting to their immediate Supervisor all accidents, incidents, near misses or hazards found in the workplace
  16. Being familiar with procedures for First Aid and emergencies

Operations Manager

£30,000 per annum

 

 


 

Overview

 

Based in Oxfordshire, Oxford Hydrotechnics is a market leading resin injection and concrete grouting specialist firm working on prestigious projects across the UK and Europe.  We often attend site visits at short notice and use cutting edge techniques to meet our client’s needs.

 

The Head office is based in Baynards Green, Oxfordshire.

 


Some travel including some overnight stays may be required.

 


 

Role Purpose


Responsible for delivering operational support services to the core business functions which include logistics, procurement, regulatory compliance and management of office services. Management of procurement including supplier contract reviews and negotiation. Overall management of logistics and Stores to enable the business to efficiently deliver contracts for its clients. Principal accountability for audit and compliance function ensuring requirements of regulatory bodies are met in full and ISO9001/14001 and other accreditations are maintained including FORS. To lead and manage admin function ensuring that all processes and procedures are regularly reviewed in order to optimise efficiency and cost effectiveness.

 

Core Hours

 

40 hours per week (including 30 minutes paid daily lunch break) Monday to Friday with some travel and some overnight stays

Direct reports:         Stores Manager, Office Manager

 

Main Duties

 

Operational

 

  1. To develop and facilitate a long and short term plan for the resources and equipment needs through regular interaction with Engineering for future contracts requirements and Contracts Manager for existing contract requirements.
  2. Oversee Store Manager to ensure effective provision of all stock, equipment and machinery. This includes accurate stock control, losses and maintenance of tools and equipment
  3. Responsible for overseeing fleet management of operational vehicles including the coordination of vehicle maintenance, reporting, investigating and managing any damages caused by Operatives and ensuring appropriate vehicle allocation in conjunction with Contracts Manager.
  4. Principle responsibility for FORS accreditation and successful completion of FORS audit
  5. Leading on Office Administration Processes & Policies and staffing. Ongoing review and improvement of key processes, ensuring protocols are effectively communicated throughout the company.

 

 

Quality & Compliance

 

  1. Responsible for maintaining ISO9001/14001 and other accreditations including overseeing coordination of ISO and other audits through effective line management and delegation to Office Manager and Administrators.
  2. Reviewing existing systems and processes and implementing programmes of improvement

Procurement

 

  1. Responsible for procurement of all tangible resources ensuring a high quality low cost provision through delegation to Office Manager and Stores Manager
  2. Responsible for contract management and negotiation of business service providers & utilities whilst ensuring continual drive to deliver value from offices overhead spends. This includes reviewing contracts and costs of key suppliers, process reviews and regular renegotiation of supplier contracts.
  3. Oversee supplier and service provider approval process ensuring all services are of the correct standard and compliance/regulatory requirements are met.

 

Financial Management

 

  1. In conjunction with Directors prepare annual budget for products, equipment, vehicles and maintenance.
  2. Contribute to financial performance reports to Directors which includes producing data and commentary by business function.
  3. Effective management of budgets, demonstrating control and prioritisation
  4. Generate KPIs so that business performance can be effectively monitored to ensure operations are run as cost-effectively as possible.
  5. Monitoring costs, championing new cost-saving initiatives wherever possible and continually striving to improve the bottom line.

 

Staff Management

 

  1. Provide strong, clear, motivation and leadership to Store Manager, Office Manager and Administrators
  2. In conjunction with HR Manager, manage escalated disciplinary, grievance and employee relations issues
  3. In conjunction with HR Manager, oversee staff performance including appraisals, performance and probation reviews
  4. Participating in salary reviews and approval of bonus awards
  5. Overseeing recruitment and selection of high quality staff
  6. Contribution to creation and delivery of staff training programmes
